Nov 2014 - Aug 2016, Thomas More University College, Speech therapy and Audiology, Antwerp.
I developed the vowel pronunciation training system 'Coco'. Using this application students of speech and language therapy can train their pronunciation of Flemish Dutch vowels against voices of broadcasters of the Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Organization. The application is implemented in the PRAAT scripting language.
Jan 2017 - Jul 2017, Fryske Akademy, Leeuwarden.
At the Fryske Akademy employees can borrow journals. I built a lending system which has a database that contains all the journals that can be borrowed and which is used for the registration of the loans. Journals can be searched for by entering either the title, author, name of the journal, ISSN, ISBN or free search terms. The app is implemented in the programming language R as a Shiny app.
Oct 2016 - Oct 2018, Fryske Akademy, Leeuwarden.
I developed Visible Vowels, a web app for the analysis of acoustic vowel measurements: f0, formants and duration. Visible Vowels uses a live view, i.e., each time the user changes something in the settings, the plot shown in the viewer is immediately adjusted accordingly. Line graphs, scatter plots (2D and 3D), dot plots and bar graphs are included. Distances between speakers and speaker groups can be measured and visualized by means of dendrograms and multimultidimensional scaling plots. The app is implemented in the programming language R as a Shiny app.
